A Dedication Ceremony for Sean Michael Thomas will take place on January 10, 2008 at 10:00 AM in front of the Hughesville Post Office. Public Law 110-101 was passed in Congress to honor Thomas who died on March 27, 2007 while serving his country in Baghdad, Iraq. Congressman Carney is extending the invitation.

 


~Parades~

Little League - April 26, 2008 - 10:00 AM, starts at Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department  ends at the High School.

Memorial Day - May 26, 2008 - Forming at the Hughesville Volunteer Fire Co. - 8:30 AM. Parade starts at 9:00 AM on Railroad St., making a right on Walnut, right on Main St., right on Cemetery St. ending at the high school.                              

Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department Carnival - June 2 - June 7, 2008            Pet Parade - Monday, June 2, 2008, 7:00 PM, starts at the High School on Cemetery St., ends at the Carnival grounds.

Antique Car Parade - Wednesday, June 4, 2008, 7:00 PM - Starts at Third Street Gate of the Fairgrounds, ends at Carnival grounds.

Firemen's Parade- Saturday, June 7, 2008, 5:00 PM, starts at the High School on Cemetery St., ends at the Carnival grounds.                             

Horse & Carriage Parade - Sunday, June 29, 2008, 9:00 AM, starts at Hughesville Fairgrounds Gate# 3, left on Broadway, Right on Main Street, Right on Water Street (Route 118), Right on Third Street back to Gate# 3 of the Fairgrounds.  

Halloween Parade- Starting at the High School Thursday, October 30th at 5:30 PM, across Main Street ending at the Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department. Trick or Treating will follow from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.

   Holiday Parade - Sunday, December 7, 2008 - 2PM, Starting at the high school, across Main Street ending at the Hughesville Volunteer Fire Co.

Local ticket outlets: Lockard Agency, Womer's Draft House and Hull's Landing. FREE River Valley Transit Bus from Williamsport to fairgrounds. ~Snow Removal~

When it snows all vehicles must be removed from the street. Parking is not permitted until the street has been plowed. If you don't remove your vehicle more than likely you will find a ticket on your windshield. The fine is $25.00                  See Snow Ordinance

As a homeowner did you know that it is your responsibility to maintain the alley right-of-way? Trim trees back at least 14 feet from the street and 8 feet above sidewalks. For more information see Chapter 23 of the Borough Ordinances.
