1901 - 1950


(North Main Street Early 1900s)

Early 1900s - Boaks Factory Fire. It was a furniture factory located on South Railroad Street.

1904 - Friends Holiness Church of Hughesville was founded.

1907 - The Grange national Bank was established.

1908 - The corner lot at Main and Water Streets was purchased and a largebuilding was constructed camparable with those in much larger cities.

1911 - Muncy Valley Farmers Club Fair draws a record sized crowd.

1912- Balls Mills Gristmill burned.

1915- On March 9th, te First Lycoming County Fair took place.

Early 1900s - Opened Wheel Racing took place often at the fairgrounds.

1926 - Hotel Rohrhirsch also called Cadman and United States hotel burned

1931 - American House Hotel corner of main and Water Streets burned down.

1937 - The Railroad was sold and scrapped.

1946 - The Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. was Incorporated.
